So we spent New Year's Eve in downtown Gatlinburg this year. It's the country version of Times Square. We even watched a sparkly light fall from the top of the space needle down to a counter. Then afterwards pretty bottle rockets and other assorted loud firecrackers were released from the space needle and surrounding rooftops.
It was an experience.
I don't think I'll ever do that again. Being smooshed in a crowd of 50,000 was slightly claustrophobic for me. But hey, I did get to kiss my favorite at midnight. His name is Adam and he's dreamy (wink, wink).
So we managed to escape completely unscathed...and we rang in the new year in the fresh, very cold air. We hoped to see snow, but alas only rain. We ate at a lot of really good places and then on the way home the joke of eating at Shoney's became a reality. Should have listened to our common sense...
Happy New Year!

I've got the house hunting bug bad. Technically, we're not supposed to officially begin our search until February. But I've already got my eye on a few through the internet. Now, I'm just hoping they'll still be available by the time we "officially" begin looking. And then because of the way my brain works I start to freak myself out because homeownership is no joke. Holy cow it's a huge step and a huge adventure! I can't wait!
