Someone has blessed me with a subscription to American Photo magazine. Whoever you are I LOVE YOU. You may or may not read this blog, but if you do, I thank you. You have made a tough week a little bit brighter.

And tomorrow? I'm off to the wonderful world of Columbia for some bridesmaids dress shopping. woohoo!

Shua and I spent the day yesterday showering Karl with as much love as we could to celebrate her birthday. We picked her up at 7:30 and headed on our way. She had no idea where we were going. We ended in Watkinsville, GA at a place that is to bring Karla her birthday present. You see Karl loves Project Runway. She is addicted and since watching the show has become obsessed with fashion. So awaiting us in Watkinsville, GA was a designer who is going to create a one of a kind specialty skirt for Karla. And in the process I think that our designer, Maria, is going to become a good friend of ours. We're only in part one of the process...there's still a prototype sitting and some others as well. The rest of the day we spent roaming around Athens. And that was what it was all about...part of my family. We're just comfortable together and love being with one another. And I love being with them.

Now, on to the non-mush section. The is going to be called the OH MY CRAP section. One of my good friends from college has become a body builder. Yes, a body builder. You know the ones who coat themselves in oil and parade about in a speedo for trophies. I haven't heard from him in about a year and then low and behold there's Michael. He sent me pictures from his last contest. He came in second... I mean I never thought I'd actually know a body builder much less be friends with one. OH MY CRAP!

I've noticed that I have become a creature of habit. I love the constants in my life. I love knowing that on certain days I have certain things planned without having to continually check to make sure. Take for instance Wednesdays. I know that every Wednesday Ken, Meg, Gardner, Karl, Shua, and myself are going to have dinner and watch LOST. It's a given. None of us have to ask anymore we just do it. And it's situations and times like that, that it feels like family.

I love knowing that when I call Karl, even if she doesn't answer immediately, that she will beep in as I'm leaving a message on her voice mail. Not because she feels obligated to, but because she wants to talk to me. It's times like that when you feel loved and important to someone.

I love knowing that I can email Shua saying simply "lunch?" and he'll comeback with a "sure." I love that he's the type of friend that you don't have to talk to everyday for you to know that you're important to each other. He's one of those that you can pick up right where you left off...even if it was 2 months ago. It's because he's a constant in my life, just like Karla, and Wednesdays.

Now that you are all thoroughly ready to gag, I'll end my mush rant.

5:45am - alarm sounds.

5:50am - alarm rings again...this time from the snooze...I drag myself from the bed.

6:02am - put myself in my car and make my way to the gym.

6:04am - my eyes focus on something running across the road...AAHH!! IT'S AN ALIEN!! I swerve. SLAM ON BRAKES. What the crap...did I just see a ferret run across the street and stop to stand on it's hind legs to look at me? Yes, I did.

6:10am - arrive at gym and proceed with my workout.

Just got back in from the ATL. Dang! That's all I have to say. Let's just say that Lee is going to pee his pants when the day comes. Candice, Shua, and I spent a good 2 hours at Eleven50 taking some bridal shots. What a God thing the whole afternoon was. I mean have you ever heard of a club opening up for 3 20-somethings to frolic about at will...completely free? Oh and hey, while we're at it, let's just throw in a free VIP pass. What?

Lee then joined us again as we perused some contemporary furniture showrooms and then dinner and cheesecake at The Cheesecake Factory. Which is my favorite restaurant in the entire world. If you and I are ever in Atlanta and you want to see a very happy girl, just take me there. You'll be my best friend forever. I love relaxed days like this. Day trips with no big plans are deluxe, bomber, or whatever you should choose to call them. And I can't forget to mention the rambunctious rendition of Prince's "Call My Name" as performed by Shua and Lee on the drive home. End of story. Great friends, good times, great laughs...it's a commercial for a good life.

And for kicks go to Planet of the Drums.

7/13 - you'll see Kylie and myself rock starring it at Eleven50 (we're behind the "let's throw our right arms up girls"). Jeez that was a great show.

I just got back from the Pickin' Parlor. It's a little bluegrass joint on the way into Williamston. I went by myself. I had a chance to just sit and think as I watched these beautiful people do what they love. There were probably 6 people in the audience, myself included. Not success by the world's standard, but success in their world.

Fame is nothing more than loving someone, and fortune is simply loving what you do.

These are the days.

So, last night Shua and I wound up in Clemson at the Mellow Mushroom. We went there(Campus Camera) for film, but the store was closed and we decided the pizza was the next best thing. The next best thing turned into the best and most engaging and entertaining conversation in a while for me. I mean dreams and "emastication" that's where its at. Perhaps even with two turntables and a microphone.

And tomorrow, I'll be continuing to photograph the lovely Candice and Lee in Atlanta. Oh yeah, they have asked me to be their photographer. I can't believe that they even thought of me. But I can tell you how much I've enjoyed it. I am completely blessed. I'll probably be posting a few of their engagement photos on my photography site eventually. I'll let you know when those go up.
